Cardiff & District Football Fixtures for Saturday, 29 September 2012

Butetown play Whitchurch this Saturday having won three football matches in a row and will be high on confidence.  But Whitchurch are one of the A Division's strong performers and they too will be full of confidence after a big win in the cup last week.

Fairwater entertain Rhiwbina Black, who are still smarting after their cup exit against Butetown last Saturday.  They will be looking to bounce back with a real statement of intent. But Fairwater have got off to a good start to the season and will have every right to believe they can put one over on Rhiwbina.  For different reasons both teams will need to maintain a steady nerve.  Llanederyrn play Pentwyn in what is always a hotly contested local derby.  Pentwyn should have too much but Llanederyn are showing signs they are settling.  In another local derby of sorts, bottom of the (Garth) hill, Maindy play top of the hill, Pentyrch Rangers.  Maindy haven't had a good start to the season, while Pentyrch seem to be settling to life in the A Division reasonably well.  In the final A Divsion game Rhiwbina White are home to Marlboro Black.  Both teams had disappointing cup exits on Saturday and will be looking to get their season up and going again.

In the B Division Grangetown will be looking to continue their unbeaten league record against Canton Rangers, but Canton are a good footballing team.  This will be a good test as both sides have the potential for promotion this season.  Danescourt and Caerau Ely are two other teams with realistic promotion prospects who play each other on Saturday.

In the C Division Dragons  and surprise package of the year, Gwaelod Rangers, will be looking to maintain their winning ways.
