U15 Football Results, 20 October 2012

The first U15s games for three weeks.  Whitchurch ended Fairwater's unbeaten run with a 4-2 win.  On a heavy, muddy pitch that made quality football difficult, St Albans achieved a 5-2 victory over Marlboro Black.   Rhiwbina Black registered a comprehensive 5-0 win over Pentwyn and a return to winning ways.

Division A newcomers, Pentyrch, were 3-0 up and cruising with twenty minutes to go in their game against Llanederyn.  A great fightback by Llanedeyrn, with three goals in ten minutes, saw them bring the score back to 3-3.  But with five minutes to go, Pentyrch's Sam James showed great composure to score their fourth.  This time Pentyrch closed the game out to hang on for a 4-3 victory.

In the B Division, Marshfield finally play their first match of the season and it is a 2-1 win over Rumney. Ty Celyn chalked up a 7-3 win over league leaders Grangetown.  Marlboro Red edged Canton Rangers 3-2, but Canton hold on to second place. Caerau Ely  go into joint third place with their 4-1 over Urdd. Despite only having 10 players, Caerau held the upper hand throughout most of the match.  They took the lead after 10 minutes, with their number 9 finishing clinically from the corner of the box.  Caerau extended their lead after 20 minutes, through a deflected shot, a perfect lob giving the Urdd keeper no chance.  Caerau again took control of the match early in the second half, with their number 9 showing his first goal was no fluke.  Caerau put the game beyond doubt after 65 minutes, although Urdd managed a consolation goal through Elis Jones on 68 minutes.

In the C Division, Grangetown Athletic turned on an A Division performance, running up something of a cricket score against Llanedeyrn, with Lewis scoring nine.  With Gwaelod Rangers not playing, the battle for top spot was won by Dragons, with a 6-2 victory over Marlboro White.
