The first of the Cardiff & District football fixtures for 2012/13 are displayed below.
The opening games of the new football season see tough fixtures for the A League newcomers. Last year's B Division champions Butetown meet last year's A League Champions, St Albans. Butetown showed they were a quality team last season and will be looking to give a good account of themselves. St Albans will show Butetown every respect and know they will need to on top of their game to get a result. Last year's B Division Runners-up, Pentyrch are away to Marlboro Black, one of the A Division's best footballing team. Rhiwbina Black and Whitchurch will both be looking to get off to a good start when they meet each other on Saturday. Whitchurch finished strongly last season, while Rhiwbina had, what was by their standards, a disappointing run-in. But Rhiwbina have strengthened their team during the summer and will be mounting a concerted challenge for the championship title this season.
Following disappointing seasons which saw them drop down, Canton Rangers and Ty Celyn Black will be looking to re-establish themselves in the B Division. Their opening games will be important for rebuilding morale and confidence for the new season.
