Football Results, Cardiff & District U15s, 8 April 2013

Some interesting results in last night's games.  In the Cup, Danescourt achieved  a good result by holding Pentyrch to a 0 - 0 draw and then achieving victory with a penalty shoot-out score of 6 - 5 in their favour.  It was a good battling performance from Danescourt who defended well against a potent Pentyrch strikeforce that failed to capitilise on a number of good chances. In a tense penalty shoot our both sides scored their first 5 penalties before Pentyrch's Man of the match shot wide and former Pentyrch player Luke slotted home the winning penalty in the corner of the net to see Danescourt into the semi-final of the Cup.

In the A Division, St Albans came away with a 5 - 1 win over Butetown in what was a fiercely competitive if scrappy game.  It was a game in which passion and players over-committing themselves often got in the way of the quality football both teams can play.  Marlboro Black maintain their outside chance of taking runners-up position with a 2 - 1 win over Fairwater.   Marlboro went a goal down before Nick Davies grabbed a brace of goals to take the match.  While Pentwyn had most of the attacking play and shots on goal against a defensively well-organised Whitchurch team, they were twice caught on the break to lose 2 - 1.  In the battle at the bottom of the table Maindy edged the game against Llanederyn 4 - 3.

In the C Division, yet another game was decided by the odd goal with Thornhill defeating Gwaelod Rangers 5 - 4 and dealing a serious blow to their promotion hopes.
